This three disc DVD highlights the best moments and matches from RAW and Smackdown in 2012. It is hosted by Josh Mathews but there aren't too many of his segments.Kane vs. Zack Ryder - This was a Falls Count Anywhere match that was pretty much dominated by Kane. He beat Ryder all around the arena and up onto the stage before chokeslamming him though it. It was alright but slowed down towards the end as it didn't really have an official finish.**Next we have Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel talk show segment, but it was during his time of coming out and then just leaving without saying anything.**CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan - Both men were world champions here. This was a great back and forth match filled with fast paced, back and forth action and great reversals and counters. The only negative about this match is the ending which becomes even more disappointing with how good the match was.Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett - This match had no disqualifications and was a non-stop brawl from start to finish. They brought in a table, fought all through the crowd and introduced a steel chair that both men felt the effects of multiple times. A very entertaining brawl with a good, clean finish.**John Cena cutting a promo on The Rock was shown next, as far as promos go Cena definitely won this feud.**Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show vs. Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes and The Miz - This was a pretty good match with the babyfaces dominating until Bryan managed to cut off Sheamus and work him over for a while. It broke down towards the end with Big Show chasing off Cody and Sheamus taking out Bryan on the outside. After the match Kane attacked Randy Orton to continue their feud.**The Rock performed his "Rock Concert here, it was entertaining enough.**Santino Marella vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Jack Swagger - This was for the United States Championship. Swagger and Ziggler were in a tag team at this time so they worked together for a lot of this match to take out Marella. It was a short but high energy match and was quite good, although I do hate the "cobra".**Next we get a promo by John Cena following Wrestlemania leading to the return of Brock Lesnar after eight years away.**Randy Orton vs. Kane - This match was no disqualification and they spent as much time outside the ring as they did in it, brawling all around the ring and up the stage. It was a back and forth brawl that made full use of the stipulation, it was another good match.**Next Daniel Bryan blames AJ Lee for his Wrestlemania loss, this was good for his story/character at the time but watching it back now it's just alright.****A confrontation following on from Brock Lesnar's debut the week before between him and Cena. It was a great moment that resulted in half the locker room coming down to try and separate them.**CM Punk vs. Mark Henry - This was another no disqualification match and was for CM Punk's WWE Championship. It was a really good one and different to the previous ones on the set with most of the action still taking place in the ring and minimal use of weapons. Punk made a good underdog here against the more powerful Mark Henry and the stipulation definitely helped the match.Primo and Epico vs. R-Truth and Kofi Kingston - This was for the Tag Team Championships and it was fine. There was nothing about it I'd pick out as bad but it just wasn't that interesting. That may be down to me not being a fan of either team but I don't think so.Randy Orton vs. Sheamus - This was a really good back and forth match. for the first part of the match Orton went after Sheamus' shoulder and arm but eventually they just ended up fighting back and forth, trading their signature offence along with reversals and near falls. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, it was one of their better matches together.**Next we had Big Show running down Brodus Clay before beating him up before their match could start, he also took out Kofi and R-Truth too, it was alright but I don't think it was really one of the best moments of 2012.**Dolph Ziggler vs. Christian vs. Jack Swagger vs. Great Khali - This was an elimination number one contender's match. Everyone teamed up to take out The Great Khali early on, it was good to get him out of the way early as the match picked up when he left. Swagger and Ziggler were still working as a team against Christian and they managed to hurt his ankle which would continue to play a role in the match from then on which I liked. It was another good match that got better with each elimination.Heath Slater vs. Vader - This was during Slater's time of holding open challenges for people from RAW's past in the build to RAW 1000. It was a squash match as it should have been, it was cool to see Vader again though.**Santino looked at some crowd signs and kissed a fan, it was awful.**Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler - Sheamus used his power to control Ziggler early on until Ziggler hit a famasser on the outside to take back control. He worked him over until Sheamus made a comeback and they went back and forth trading counters and nearfalls in a really good match. These two had great chemistry.**Next we saw the D-Generation X reunion from RAW 1000, it was a very memorable moment and was the first time Triple H, Shawn Michaels, X-Pac and the New Age Outlaws were all together as part of DX.**Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Kane - This was a number one contender's match with one fall. It was a really good fast paced match with interactions between all four men. Kane and Bryan continued their feud and Mysterio and Del Rio renewed their rivalry. There were plenty of near falls and submissions being broken at the last minute and it was a fun and unpredictable match.Ryback vs. Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks - This was basically a squash match, I guess they wanted to show the rise of Ryback but it wasn't very good.**CM Punk calls out John Cena next and cuts a great promo about him not receiving the respect he deserves and Cena comes back with a promo of his own, a really good segment.****Next we see the anger management segments with Daniel Bryan and Kane, they're great.**Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes - This was a good back and forth match, it was short but good while it lasted. Rhodes was obsessed with Mysterio's mask and tried to unmask him after the match was over.John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio - This was a Falls Count Anywhere match, they started off like a regular match for a while before moving to the ringside area. They used their environment as a weapon and Del Rio put Cena through the announce table. They then fought backstage where the match would end soon after. It was a decent back and forth match that made use of the stipulation.Randy Orton vs. Damien Sandow - This started as a decent match, Randy Orton controlled a lot of it but Sandow got in some offence too. Unfortunately it had a disappointing finish which stopped this from really getting good. After the match Orton attacks Dolph Ziggler who was at ringside.Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston - These two always work well together and this match was no different. Both of their managers were ejected from ringside to ensure a fair fight. They had a really good, back and forth match with plenty of reversals and near falls.Beth Phoenix vs. Natalya - This was a pretty good, competitive match that turned into a brawl for a moment in the middle before going back to someback and forth wrestling with a clean finish. After the match Eve suspended Beth Phoenix for having blonde hair.Ryback vs. Tensai - This wasn't a complete squash, Tensai did get some offence in but it was pretty short and decisive. It wasn't very good at all, neither man is that interesting when they have control and it was quite slow too.Sheamus vs. Damien Sandow - This was another really good match. Sheamus ran through Sandow for a while to begin the match. Sandow eventually cut him off and slowed down the pace to wear down the World Champion for a while until Sheamus started trying to come back and they went back and forth from there, I really liked this one.Daniel Bryan and Kane vs. Alberto Del Rio and David Otunga - This was a decent tag match but it wasn't anything special really. Kane and Bryan still weren't completely getting along but they managed to work well together anyway. It was fairly short and wasn't boring, it just wasn't anything that stood out. David Otunga is terrible, he should go away.CM Punk vs. Dolph Ziggler - This was another really good match. It was back and forth the whole way with both men knocking each other off the turnbuckle at the same time. Back in the ring they continued to trade holds and reversals before a good clean finish. Great stuff.CM Punk vs. Vince McMahon - This was a brawl from the start, it was no disqualifications. Punk dominated early but Vince managed to get a bit of offence in and use a kendo stick. Punk soon got control back and had the match won but Ryback and John Cena both got involved. This was more of an angle than a match but it was still entertaining.Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler - This was a very technical match to start with and the two men were very even throughout the match. Bryan injured his knee which affected him throughout the match but he still kept on fighting. Kane came down to ringside to support Bryan but served more as a distraction. It was a very good, competitive match.John Cena and Ryback vs. CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler - Punk and Ziggler cut off Cena and worked him over for most of this match, then Cena made the hot tag to Ryback and it went on from there. It was the basic television tag main event style match but it was still good and worth including.Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio - This was another Falls Count Anywhere match and for the first half of the match they used that fully, fighting all round ringside, through the crowd and into the backstage area. They eventually ended up back in the ring and went back and forth, introducing a steel chair and the ring steps. Del Rio got the microphone to trash talk Orton, he did this in his FCA match with Cena too. This was a good, back and forth brawl and a good way to end the set. This was an enjoyable watch, the Best of RAW and Smackdown DVDs always are and this one is no exception. There were plenty of really good matches and some very memorable moments covering a good variety of wrestlers.
