Nme: The Album 2009

i regard any CD that has two songs on it that i like -- and the other tracks bearable -- as good:,, so to get two discs, and to like eight on each disc a lot left me very satisfied. Disc 1 had some tracks on that -- inevitably -- i had heard before (Muse, Kasabian.and Franz Ferdinand stand out) but these are quality songs, And there were other tunes that were completely new to me (i wouldnt claim to be really clued up about modern bands -- i am 66) like Zero (the Yeah Yeah Yeahs)Sticks and Stones (Jamie T) and Headlock by Esser. Disc 2 was the real revelation with tracks like 1901 (Phoenix), 5 Rebeccas (the View) and Je Suis Un Funky Homme (Marmaduke Duke) leaving me wanting more. A great buy!

I was a bit late with this one but you can't fault the value. It let me catch up with new acts and the NME staff have captured some quality stuff. The NME brand remains strong and I always look out for it.
